Cristina Ferrare's Big Bowl of Love

Oprah Winfrey says, “Cristina is probably the best cook I’ve ever met, other than Maya Angelou and my own mother.” New York Times bestselling author Cristina Ferrare’s warmth and culinary creativity shine through in Cristina’ Ferrares Big Bowl of Love, the gorgeous companion to the popular Oprah Winfrey Network cooking show of the same name. Enjoy something enticing enough for company, easy enough for everyday with a nice balance of more than 150 recipes (some hearty and rich, others healthy and light), inventive ways to stretch a main ingredient for multiple meals (including “cook once, eat twice” recipes), and great ideas for making every meal—even quick-fix fare—look as scrumptious as it tastes. What’s not to love? Color photos.

I have many cookbooks and I received this book through a feature selection from another book club and I LOVE IT! Basic fool proof recipes.

Nothing new here
June 30, 2011

If you are a beginning cook - this book might work for you but there is nothing new or different to offer to anyone ele. Most of the recipes seeem to be barely modified versions of recipes available in other books or magazines- most of them at least 3-5 years old (Orichetta with broccoli rabe? Giada did it first - and her photographs are better). The recipes are not paticularly well organized and there was not a single one that made me think "well, thats new" - or "I'd like to make that for dinner".
