Every time Ty Pennington watches a family in distress walk through the front door of their new and improved home for the first time, he knows that good design can change lives. In this spirit of community service, he’s passing along what he’s learned as a carpenter and designer so we can all benefit. But no need to go to extremes! “You don’t have to completely overhaul a room to give it a striking makeover,” he says. “Sometimes fooling around with just one or two elements is all you need to do. My goal here is to give you tons of ideas from which you can pick and choose.” Well, mission accomplished! Focusing on little changes in the major living spaces in your home, he’ll help you refresh your style—and change your life! Softcover.

The book was a quick read, and rather interesting though I thought it focused a bit much on sob stories (probably because of the program inspiring it). The decorating ideas weren't particularly simple and the sample rooms too individualized to give most people any good ideas. In addition, the sample projects were completed by a crew of specialists and included custom elements. If you aren't a DIY enthusiast, don't care for contemporary style, and are looking at decorating a small place, you won't find much help here.

Everything in the book is very comtemporary and low cost, sort of geared for the very young. There was only one idea I thought was good using moldings. So, for the one idea I paid $3.99!

The price is right on this book. I did not think it was great in any ideas or designs but for $3.99 it is not a bad buy.

There is not much good to say about this book. It would be difficult to live with this style.
