Maintaining a manicured lawn is hard work! What if, instead of just a sea of green, your front yard was an oasis of blooming flowers and lush greenery—one that made chemicals and backaches a thing of the past? In 2008, Liz Primeau dazzled us with all the ways she used flowering plants, shrubs and cacti to give homes across North America glorious curb appeal. Now she's expanded this second edition of the club favorite with new and delightfully different front yard gardens. Learn the key elements for unique gardens in a range of styles from minimalist to cottage, then create and maintain the one you like best with comprehensive plant lists, step-by-step instructions, and profiles of 75 show-stopping yards as your guide. Color photos.

This is a beautiful book with lots of pretty pictures but it doesn't give detailed info or reccommendations on climates, soils, fertilizers, or suitable plants, other than those for the Pacific NW. The book & photos are set primarily in Canada, with a few in British Columbia. It definitely was not designed for the southern U.S. climate, but the book's description failed to note that. Had I known these things, I would not have purchased this book. It's just another pretty picture book.
