I saw potential but some of the ideas were redundant or
just not to my taste. I was looking for more modern
classy styles surrounding chrome, glass, leather and interior artwork. Overall, country kitchens, kids rooms, office or work space and guest rooms were acceptable
alternatives.

I don't take the magazine so all the ideas were new to me. Having just moved into a beach cottage on the Washington Coast I have already used several ideas and I'm out to shop for materials for another one. I have had the book 2 weeks and it is dog eared already.

I split the difference on the rating.
If you don't subscribe to BH&G, this would be a good book. It contains some nice ideas for decorating without breaking your budget. For you, it would probably be worth more than 3 stars.
HOWEVER, if you subscribe to the magazine you will have seen the ideas already. Every picture in this book is taken from the magazine. For those people, I don't think you would consider it worth 3 stars.
